Integrating Cultural Competence into Social and Healthcare VET education Aligned with SDG-3

Aiming to enhance vocational education and training (VET) in the healthcare sector by integrating cultural competence and multicultural health perspectives into curricula.

Sustainable Development Goal 3

Good Health & Well-being

This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) to prepare students for the global healthcare workforce.

Why is it important?

Trust us, it is!

Healthcare lacks diversity in training and leadership, limiting its ability to serve diverse populations. Cultural competence—understanding and respecting patients’ cultural backgrounds—improves outcomes and is vital in today’s superdiverse Europe. This project integrates SDG 3 into Vocational Education and Training (VET) to equip future professionals with the skills to deliver inclusive, equitable care and meet global healthcare challenges.

Project Objectives

Equip VET Trainers & Educators

Provide educators with the tools and knowledge to integrate diverse cultural perceptions of health into their curricula.

Teaching of Multicultural Health Concepts

Train VET educators to critically analyze and teach multicultural health perspectives, fostering inclusivity.

Improve Health Outcomes

Ensure VET curricula incorporate multicultural health practices to improve patient care.

Strengthen Networks Between Stakeholders

Establish connections between VET institutions, healthcare providers, and multicultural communities to better address the needs of diverse populations.
